Party Like its 1999 - Human Achievement Hour

In honour of those from Prometheus and Ben Franklin to Andrew Carnegie, Thomas Edison and Thomas Dolby, who have helped bring us out of the cold and the dark, I will be making good use of those wonderful little electrons by having a party.

There will be electric lights, stereo and projector use, not to mention the use of both gas and electricity in producing the buffet. I thought creating effigies of Al Gore and David Suzuki for a marshmallow roast would be over the top, the fact that there is just too much snow in the back yard to excavate the fire pit aside.

Anyway, my playlist for the first hour includes:

Black Velvet - Alana Myles
Standing in the Dark - Platinium Blonde
Blackout - The Scorpions
Black Diamond - Kiss
Black Friday - Steely Dan
Black Water - The Doobie Brothers
Black Magic Woman - Santana
The Trees - Rush

Yes, I know that the last song does not contain the word Black, but it typifies the spirit behind the Anti-Industrial revolution....

Now there's no more Oak opression
For they passed a noble law
And the trees are all kept equal
Hatchet, axe and saw...
