Rally For Canada - Winnipeg
There was a bit of a mixup in Winnipeg for the Rally For Canada. Things did start up around 12:15 instead of 1:00. Even so, there were still a lot of people braving the cold to stand up for Canada and democracy. To be willing make your own way down to stand out in -28 windchill and express your democratic opinion requires a lot more comittment than the coalition aparatchiks are willing to make, as witnessed by their absence. I counted 2 from where I was standing. A friend told me one of, a guy who was trying to shout a few hundred people down by himself, was getting beaten on by a little old lady because he was annoying her. If someone has video of this, please upload it.
Charles Addler was awesome, and I look forward to seeing what he writes about it on Monday.
It was heartening to see so many people from all age groups, areas and walks of life show up to stand up for our right to be heard.
If those who support this coalition are so convinced of the righteousness of their cause, why do they want to avoid facing the electorate? If its about expressing the democratic will of the people, then why not let the people have their chance express it? We need to keep fighting the good fight, because they won't stop until either they get their way, or they're forced into an election.
