Senator Elizabeth May?!?

After spending much of her time complaining about democracy in this country being subverted, it looks like that its self appointed champion, Elizabeth May, is dusting off her prettiest pantsuit in anticipation of her investiture as an unelected, undemocratically appointed Senator.

After being defeated in no less than 2 different ridings, and being repudiated by her party for her ambiguous support of her own Green candidates, Ms. May somehow can manage to square fighting for democracy with accepting an apointment by men of dubious authority to a decidedly undemocratic body. Why is that? Oh, yeah, I forgot - "Canadians are stupid." and we the wise guidance of her and Stephane Dion to save Gaia...er I mean Canada.

Update - Memo to Green Party - All of the effort you peons put into the election had nothing to do with Green party gains; it was all her don't you know: The absolute hubris of this woman is breathtaking! The first Senator to receive a Million votes?!? An election was run 8 weeks ago for seats in the House of Commons, not the Senate. The only person in the Senate who can make a claim to having been democratically elected is Bert Brown from Alberta. Earth to Elizabeth - Central Nova had 39,142 valid votes, of which you received just over 12, 600. Just where are you counting the other 987,400 votes from. Liberal Party math 101 I see. Look Lizzie, it was the total votes received by the Green Party that was around 1,000,000 not you personally. These gains came despite your lukewarm support for your candidates and willingness to throw them under the bus to further your own ambitions.
