Ottawa Reality TV

Watching the New Libs on the Bloc has been kind of watching a train wreck in slow motion. You know that the end result is not going to be pretty, but you can't bring yourself to look away.

It's been a week that a reality TV producer could only dream about. Think about it:

1. Survivor - Ottawa: Jack, Gilles and Steph are gunning for Steven in the race to the Governor General. Steven wins the challenge and gets the immunity idol and a 6 week prorogation. Steph is voted off the island by Team Red, while Bob and Mike fight it out to be the new Red captain.

2. So You Think You Can Dance Canada: Steven gave a solid performance in the "Face the Nation" segment, with a sure footed routine that resonated with many Canadians. Stephane was devastated when technical issues wreaked havoc with his routine, which followed Steven's, presenting him as an amateur with 2 left feet. Jumpin' Jack Flash, while nimble, left the audience cold with his pre-performance primadonna antics. As for Gilles, while his routine was more polished than Stephane's and more sincere than Jack's, suffered for the fact that it was severely lacking in originality.

3. The Apprentice - Liberal Party (Season 2): The competition is down to 2 as Dom bowed out knowing full well that he will be back for Season 3, after either one of the eventual winners (Mike or Bob) goes down in flames with the poison pill deal that last season's winner Stephane devised.

Who said mid-season programming was dull.
